LAKE HAVASU COMMUNITY CHOIR

Jean Laucher Scholarship Audition Expectations
We are thrilled that you are auditioning for this scholarship. This is different from a musical audition. We want to hear an entire song, not just one minute of a song. Here are some expectations:
You will enter, give the accompanist your music (in the proper key that you will be singing in), then you will get in place and introduce yourself...giving us your name, age, what school you attend, and why you'd like to receive this scholarship money. Motion for your accompanist to begin, then:
-
We want to hear a full song that best shows off your vocal talents.
-
We want to hear a song that is AGE APPROPRIATE. Any cursing or inappropriate content will immediately disqualify you from receiving any scholarship funds.
-
Your song must be memorized.
-
Your song must be performed with a live accompanist. We will have a VERY qualified accompanist that you may use. You are welcome to bring your own accompanist if you'd prefer. No cd or MP3 accompaniment will be permitted.
-
Wait in place until the judges dismiss you. We may have some questions, comments and suggestions for you.
-
HAVE FUN and don't stress if you make any mistakes.
You will be judged on:
-
Difficulty of the song, song choice
-
Execution of the song - enunciation, pitch, clarity
-
Current abilities and ability for growth
-
Stage presence
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact:

Please remember that everything matters, the way you carry yourself, the way you confidently enter the room, the way you are dressed, the way you communicate with the accompanist and the panel of judges.
